2019 Anti-Cancer Challenge

Bicycle Club of Irvine - BCI

With the approval of the club’s Board of Directors, we have formed a team to support the 2019 UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge on Saturday June 8th. BCI Team members can chose between 14, 36, 60, or 100 mile rides. All routes depart and return to Aldrich Park at the UCI Campus.

The rides include well stocked rest stops and SAG support, as well as a festival with food and entertainment. 60 and 100 mile routes include a scenic ride by the ocean and lunch at the Monarch Beach Resort! Team members who raise $500 or more will receive this year's event jersey.

We have a goal of 40 team members raising $10,000 in donations for the event. Each team member must commit to raising $250 in order to participate. (All funds must be donated to individual team members, there is no mechanism to donate to a team.) 100% of all donations raised by team members go directly to fund local anti-cancer research at UCI.

If you do not participate in a ride, you may also join the BCI Team as a volunteer or virtual participant. Or consider making a donation to one of our team members to help us reach our team fundraising goal.

The club believes the opportunity to assist UCI with its local anti-cancer efforts will also be a good way to promote camaraderie in our club, as well as participate in a worthwhile and enjoyable local bicycling event.  Please join the BCI Team and help make this a successful event for all.

We want you on our team!  Thank you!
