I’m participating in the UC Irvine Anti-Cancer Challenge during its 10-year anniversary to help fund lifesaving cancer research at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and CHOC, part of Rady Children’s Health.
Cancer has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I lost my father to cancer when I was only 15, and throughout the years, I’ve watched many family members face this devastating disease.
For me, this race is more than a challenge. I race in memory of my father, in honor of my family, and now, I race for healing at a personal level.
One of the few ways I found to cope with Cancer’s devastation was to get on my bike and just ride, to clear my head, to feel free, and to find some peace. Now, nearly 41 years later, I’m getting back on the bike, not just for myself, but for a purpose much bigger than me.
For a decade, the Anti-Cancer Challenge has helped advance innovative cancer research, supporting pilot projects and early-phase clinical trials that can lead to better prevention, treatments, and cures.
Please consider supporting my fundraiser. Every donation, no matter the size, brings hope and helps move us one step closer to a world without cancer.
Thank you for standing with me on this journey.
