Making a Difference
The fight against cancer begins with fundamental research on its causes, detection, prevention and treatment at National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer centers like the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
NCI-designated cancer centers are national leaders in cancer research, education and treatment. Among those centers, only 53 are designated as "comprehensive" and recognized for meeting rigorous criteria aimed at providing world-class patient care and innovative research.
Your support through the UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge directly funds cancer-related projects that help UC Irvine physician-scientists generate crucial preliminary data for high impact research – to save lives.
Through a partnership with Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC), a portion of the funds are dedicated to pediatric cancer research.
