I’m riding in the UC Irvine Anti-Cancer Challenge for my wife, Pearlene, who has been battling stage 4 Melanoma for years. The exceptional oncology team at UCI Health is the reason she is still here with us today.

To honor her fight, I’m taking on the 100-mile ride—a route with over 8,500 feet of climbing (1.6 miles of vertical gain), making it far tougher than anything I’ve ever tackled on the bike. Riding with Team Melanoma Magicians, my goal is to push through every mile to give back and help fund the vital research and clinical trials happening right now at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center.
